AD-18SW115ES 18” Subwoofer – Extreme Bass, Maximum Power

The AD-18SW115ES 18” Subwoofer – Extreme Bass, Maximum Power is a high-performance 18-inch subwoofer built for powerful low-frequency output, extended durability, and superior sound clarity. Designed for professional sound reinforcement, live performances, DJ setups, and high-end audio installations, this subwoofer brings unmatched depth and definition to your bass.

The AD-18SW115ES delivers 3600W peak power and 1800W RMS, making it ideal for high-demand audio environments. It easily handles powerful, extended bass without distortion. A robust 114.5mm (4.5″) in/out voice coil drives this performance. It offers excellent heat dissipation to prevent overheating. This improves long-term reliability, even during continuous operation. The large voice coil delivers fast, responsive sound. It also maintains consistent output at high volumes over extended periods.

Its sensitivity of 98 ± 2dB makes it extremely efficient, producing loud and clean output with minimal power consumption. The wide frequency response of 35Hz to 2000Hz delivers deep, earth-shaking bass with clarity. It also handles mid-bass tones with precision, making the subwoofer ideal for both music and sound effects.

A powerful N45-grade neodymium magnet (105×50×15) ensures accurate cone control and reduced distortion, delivering tight, punchy bass with precision. The aluminum basket provides a strong, vibration-free frame that’s both lightweight and durable, supporting professional-level performance in portable and fixed setups.

With a nominal impedance of 8Ω and DC resistance of 5.3Ω, the AD-18SW115ES integrates easily with most amplifiers and sound systems. Despite its size, the subwoofer weighs just 11.0 kg, making it easier to transport and install than traditional 18″ models.

For professionals who demand extreme power, high sensitivity, and extended frequency response in a lightweight frame, the AD-18SW115ES delivers unbeatable performance.

FAQ Section

1. Why is this 18-inch neodymium subwoofer significantly lighter than standard 18-inch bass drivers?

Weighing just 11.0 kg, the Audiotone AD-18SW115ES uses a high-grade N45 neodymium magnet system instead of a massive ferrite magnet. This cuts down total driver weight by over 50% while delivering incredible magnetic energy, making heavy bass cabinets far easier to carry, load, and fly in truss rigs.

2. How does the 4.5-inch inside/outside voice coil perform under continuous heavy bass loads?

The massive 114.5mm (4.5-inch) inside/outside voice coil provides double the surface area for rapid heat dissipation. Combined with a huge power capacity of 1800W RMS / 3600W Continuous, it prevents thermal power compression and maintains deep, distortion-free sub-bass punch over extended performance hours.

3. What amplifier specification is recommended to run this 1800W RMS driver safely?

To get full excursion and fast transient bass response without clipping, drive this speaker with a high-damping power amplifier capable of delivering 1800W to 2500W RMS per channel into an 8-Ohm load. Adequate amplifier headroom ensures clean power transfer to the voice coil.

4. Which enclosure designs work best with a frequency response starting at 35Hz?

With an ultra-low frequency extension from 35Hz to 2000Hz, this driver excels in large ported bass-reflex boxes, scoop cabinets, and horn-loaded subwoofers. It moves massive volumes of air to produce deep, chest-thumping sub-bass across open festival grounds and outdoor DJ events.
